EFIb at the X IALE 2019

EFIb at the X IALE (International Association for Landscape Ecology) Worldcongress

Efib members attended the X Iale World Congress (Nature and Society facing the Anthropocene challenges and perspective for Landscape Ecology – Milan, 1-5 July) with 4 papers and 2 posters.

Over 900 members from 60 countries and almost 400 works in twenty symposia. One of these, “Soil, Vegetation and Biodiversity”, whose papers (from Russia, China, US, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Norway) will be published on our website, has been coordinated by Gianluigi Pirrera.

Thanks to the Congress Chairs(Emilio Padoa Schioppa, Christine Furst and Gioia Gibelli) we had the opportunity to meet the best Landscape Ecology scholars, including the noble father Richard T.T. Forman (in the photo together with Flora Vallone and Carmela Canzonieri, also IFLA members) who presented “Towns, Ecology and the land”, his latest book.

The Call for Papers of the next (Wien, 23-24 April 2020) conference EFIB – BOKU on NBS (Nature Based Solutions) for Green and Blue Infrastructures was also promoted and contact was made with other African countries for the activities that EFIB will start in the black continent starting from Ethiopia in 2020.The EFIB relationships with the other organizations of the ecological restoration, like SER, are now strengthened with the othersones of the landscape: IFLA and today IALE. New perspectives especially towards new countries and new continents.
