What is EFIB?
EFIB is the organisation including all the associations and Bioengineering companies. Its aim is to promote the Bioengineering as a constructive discipline having its own technical, ecological and environmental friendly scopes, by using living materials.
These purposes are followed by using naturalistic construction modalities and exploiting the big potentialities of used materials.
The Federation is born in 1995 and it has gathered all the traditions and the experience of the different national European associations, which had started their activity during the years 80-90, even if in some countries such as Austria, Germany or Switzerland, Bioengineering was operative starting from the years 70.
The Federation normally operates in the following fields:
- It co-ordinates the associations activities and the ones of Bioengineering companies ;
- It co-operates with organisations, local administrations of all the continents ;
- It provides information on the activity of all the surrounding associations and provides update of the results of the research activity and on eventual new philosophical issues developed by particular institutes or academies;
- It organises congresses, meetings by contacting the local administrative public institutions ;
- It promotes research projects and it spreads world wide the relevant results, and it takes care of the professional skills of the technical staff ;
- It promotes the constitution of associations for Bioengineering in other countries
This Federation has born sofar in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and it can count on the held of some experts also in France, Slovenia and United States.
In order to develop and spread the Bioengineering knowledge EFIB has founded a multilingual dictionary containing all the technical terms and they are issuing a multilingual glossary with the description of the main Bioengineering techniques.
Further Research Activity has been programmed with the help of EEC sponsorisation.
